Sam is going to TCU!!!!

04-15-2021

Texas Christian University has selected Sam Wendolek to receive the Chancellor’s Scholarship, an honor that provides full tuition for his entire four years of undergraduate study at the university. The Chancellor’s Scholarship is the highest award available at Texas Christian University and carries a value of more than $206,000. In addition to the substantial financial support, Sam will also receive special opportunities to interact with the Chancellor and TCU faculty at various events and will be able to participate in a unique international experience. Beyond his strong academics, Sam has made his mark at Eagan High School with his dedication to Robotics, Chess, Quiz Bowl and Knowledge Bowl teams. As a member of the EHS National Honor Society and SOLID Robotics team, Sam was able to make significant impacts on local communities with hundreds of hours of volunteer work. In his free time, he was able to use his logic skills to master the Rubik’s cube, solving it in 10.66 seconds during multi-state competitions. At TCU, Sam will be pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree.

Texas Christian University is a private university located in Fort Worth, Texas, with an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 9,700 students. The competitive Chancellor’s Scholarship includes multiple rounds of committee review and interviews. Ultimately, TCU awards scholarships with the goal of enrolling 50 Chancellor’s Scholars, representing the top 0.5% of applicants. The fall 2021 entering class hails from 23 different states and four countries outside the United States, and they represent all degree-granting colleges on campus. This entering class boasts an average 3.98 unweighted GPA. Additionally, these students have stellar resumes, exhibiting exemplary leadership and service. The Chancellor’s Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship that rewards students for excellence in their high school careers. More importantly, however, it’s a program designed to help students get the most out of their college experience and sets them up to lead on after graduation.

Sam was also selected to be in the Honors College at TCU, a learning community of academic excellence where high-achieving students can explore the complexities of knowledge. Honors students come to TCU from all over the country and all around the world, bringing unique talents and interests.

Students in the TCU Honors College receive priority registration, as well as mentoring from special academic advisors and faculty from across campus. He will have the opportunity to experience uniquely designed global experiences, exclusively for Honors students. Since 2009, John V. Roach Honors College students have been traveling the world through Honors Abroad. Destinations have included Germany, Switzerland, Italy, England, Washington D.C., France, Poland, Hungary, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Greece, Japan, and Australia. These learning experiences fulfill the Honors curriculum requirements for Cultural Visions and allow students the opportunity to gain the cross-cultural knowledge necessary to become responsible citizens in the global community.

Congratulations Sam for all your hard work and selection to these prestigious awards.
